Marked Jewelry

Many great vintage jewelry pieces will be coming to the shop this weekend! Some are marked; Monet and Sarah Coventry. Most of the pieces are necklaces that include double stands and one very long. There is a bracelet with peal accents and [my favorite] the geometric cube pendant. I love their simplicity.

Christmas Time...is here?

I have been playing around with making some new wreaths this weekend. I had some extra silver tinsel laying around and some wire so I made these. I completed them with a vintage jewelry piece. [salvaged of course!]
They are the perfect size for a small pop of holiday cheer! Find them in the shop this evening.

Tied Up Memories...

I am really smitten with this adorable shop I found on etsy. Tied Up Memories uses salvaged vintage costume jewelry and gives it new life in a new piece of handmade jewelry. Really sweet!

A New Friend Indeed...

I just had to share a post of the lovely photography of Kathi Roussel, a new internet friend of mine. She has two shops [one] with vintage items and [one] with handmade jewelry creations. I was taken with her photography some months ago [see this post] and have grown to checking up on her shops daily. I just adore the way she uses an extreme close up of her items, sitting prettily on miniature doll house furniture. Her lighting is spectacular and I want her skills. ::smiles::

In her vintage shop now:

Photo Editing

So, I have been playing around with photo editing lately and I am loving it! It is really inspiring me to get back into photography more seriously. A little A La Before and After:
I also photographed these scraps on Sunday and I just love em! They are not large or many, but they are cute. Not sure if I am going to be parting with them just yet...unless someone really wants them... ::wink:: ::wink::
This great vintage muffin tin is in the shop though! I adore the way it has such character. Great for sorting buttons or jewelry or for holdng your favorite things!

New Flower Pin Brooch

New brooch in the shop. I am loving lace lately. I really like the way these pins are coming out too. I wish that I had more hot glue sticks, because there would be like three more in the shop if I hadn't run out! doh.

I hope to do some of these for weddings. I can just picture them on a set of bridesmaids. All of them would have the same lace but slightly different centers, mirroring that each bridesmaid has an individual personality.

Vintage Costume Jewelry & Terrariums

[1.] -$15.00 [2.] $18.00 [3.] $15.00 [4.] $15.00

My mom's shop Rebelyun has a gorgeous selection of rhinestone costume jewelry right now. [get them while they are there! The second one has already sold!] She has such an eye for photographing these beauties. I remember digging through her stash before I moved out and got married. I have a few special pieces that I will forever hold onto. What a really want to do it mount them inside a shadow box and hang them somewhere. Its not like I will be wearing the large pieces anytime soon!

On another note, I heard that Country Home Magazine is going to no longer be published! I am very sad to hear this news, as it is one of my favorite magazines to flip though for inspiration. This is a photograph from Country Home displaying a gathering of vintage costume jewelry. Their photography has always impressed me.

Country Home [on line] also has a lovely, lovely article on plants under glass. I began my first terrarium last fall and it is not doing too well. [thus the lack of pictures of my own terrarium!] So, enjoy some photos of some very good terrariums. [they are super easy to make and maintain, read this article to find out more about them.]

Made by Mavis over at etsy also makes lovely terrariums! She was recently on the front page as a featured seller.

Ah, the green makes me think of spring. It can come early this year, I wouldn't mind.
