Vintage Fabric + Button Fridays

Another new feature this week is Vintage Fabric + Button Fridays. I will have on display a gathering of vintage and retro fabrics from my extensive collection. Enjoy this Friday's collection: "It's Almost August"
This collection reminds me of the tail end of summer. The days are hot and dry. Many of the summer's brilliant colors are beginning to fade to their autumn patina. But, in August, after a refreshing evening storm, whats green becomes greener once again to extend summer until September.

new banner...

Another vintage fabric banner in the shop. This one is made out of vintage fabric squares. I usually make the banners from triangles of fabric, but I decided to try something new. Gatherings of vintage lace, doilies and buttons also decorate the bunting.

I love the sunshine and happiness it brings! [here]

Applique.

Oh my goodness! I was browsing through hand made pins/brooches on etsy and discovered the shop: Designed by Jane. Her craftsmanship is unbelievable and I am completely smitten with her color choices and designs. Catch up on her blog [here]

Photo Editing

So, I have been playing around with photo editing lately and I am loving it! It is really inspiring me to get back into photography more seriously. A little A La Before and After:
I also photographed these scraps on Sunday and I just love em! They are not large or many, but they are cute. Not sure if I am going to be parting with them just yet...unless someone really wants them... ::wink:: ::wink::
This great vintage muffin tin is in the shop though! I adore the way it has such character. Great for sorting buttons or jewelry or for holdng your favorite things!

fabric fabric fabric

I am so into fibers lately, its weird! I found some of these vintage fabric squares that I bought on ebay last year. I adore the patterns, but I have no idea what to do with them. The squares are only abut 5" x 5". I would love to frame them, but they are not very similar! These blue and pink stacks of scraps are in the shop right now. I am nearing the end of my beautiful stash of retro fabric...get it while you can!

On another fibers note, I was browsing around etsy today and found this great seller: SoSheSews. She has created some very, very cute and colorful Eco Friendly Bangles & Bracelets. These are just two of my favorite from her shop:

Sadly, the first set has been sold, but the second set can be found [here] The bracelets are made from her leftover materials and old buttons. [a girl after my own heart!] The colors she chooses are so on key! They are beautiful and the price is great too! [only 12.00]
